Dr. Tomas A. Prolla received his B.S in Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkely in 1990 and his Ph.D from the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University in 1994. He is currently Professor of Genetics and Medical genetics at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Dr. Prolla’s research group was the first to employ large-scale gene expression profiling using DNA microarrays to the analysis of aging and its retardation by caloric restriction. These studies have generated the first detailed analysis of the aging process at the genomic level
