LifeGen's founding scientists, Drs. Weindruch and Prolla, are University
of Wisconsin Professors who are leaders in the fields of aging research and genetics. Together, they have published extensively on topics directly related to the pursuits of the company. They were the first to use gene chips to study the aging process and have developed LifeGen's technology platform.
The company maintains a close relationship with the University of
Wisconsin, which includes licensing of existing scientific discoveries through the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF).
Jaume Villanueva and Craig Sterling, both 2nd year honors students in the
University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business, consult with the
company regularly. As participants in the Weinert Applied Ventures in Entrepreneurship (WAVE)
program, these two outstanding students provide LifeGen with valuable
competitive analysis, strategy, and marketing consulting services.
The Board of Directors of LifeGen consists of Drs. Weindruch and
Prolla, as well as Howard Raff, Ph.D. (Chiron Corporation).
Additional directors will be added during the process of funding LifeGen. It is anticipated that a CEO will be named by Summer 2002.
Biographies of the founding scientists are available for review on this
web site.
